A very special Shoemaker games set. Several tropical wood types were used to produce this backgammon. The set includes checker pieces made in “cueramo” (a rosewood variant) from Michoacan and white mahogany, called “primavera” by the locals and two shaker cups for dice in black leather. Another masterpiece created by Don for our amusement.

Dear Noémi,
Thank you very much for visiting my blog about Don S. Shoemaker.
Congratulations for the ownership of a Don S. Shoemaker backgammon set, it
is indeed a very special piece. Don used the finest tropical woods for these
game sets. During the 30 some years of production I really can not tell how
many of these backgammon sets were produced, however, I can assure you that
the production was very limited.
Best regards,
Karin
